Shurek Accounting & Tax was started on July 22, 2009 by Harry I. Shurek with the goal of providing the community with a top quality, professional accounting and tax solution at a competitive price.

Professional Accomplishments:
In addition to over seven years of experience in the banking industry as well as five years of experience preparing tax returns, prior to starting Shurek Accounting & Tax, Harry was employed by two different mid-level Certified Public Accounting firms in the metro Atlanta area.  While there he was able to gain a broad range of valuable experience including:

  • Maintaining accurate books and records and preparing tax returns for over 200 various S-corporations, C-corporations and Partnerships with revenues up to $25M for businesses in industries including: Real Estate, Medical and Professional Services, Legal Services, Residential/Commercial Construction, Insurance and Restaurant/Food Services
  • Processing weekly payroll, performing monthly financial compilation and preparing monthly financials and year-end tax returns for over twenty restaurants in the Atlanta area with revenues up to $4M
  • Preparing sales tax returns, personal property tax returns and quarterly / annual payroll tax returns for over 200 clients in various industries
  • Preparing tax returns for individuals with net worth up to $15M
  • Preparing audit work papers for clients with revenues up to $50M in the industries of Medical and Professional Services, Wholesale, Scientific Technology, Telecommunications and Retail
  • Experience responding to tax notices and inquiries from taxing authorities where he had a high level of success resolving issues such as levies, liens and payment settlements with the IRS
